Eye Department

OPD Facilities

  • Auto refrectometer: For quick, easy and reliable detection of refrective errors.
  • Auto lensometer: For quick verification of glasses.
  • Non Contact Tonometer: Besides measuring 10 p in patients with normal cornea, it ia specially useful in patients with cornal aberrations, patients allergic to topical naaesthetics, children, psychiatric patients and in post operative cases.
  • Slit Lamp: It is a versatile tool for thorough anterior as well as posterior segment examination. With the use of auxiliary devices, it can make quantitative measurements.( of 10 P, endothelial cell counts, pupillary size, corneal thickness and anterior chanber depth).

Diagnostic Facilities

  • A Scan(A-1500): A Scan U.S.G is indicated for evaluation of posterior segment in presence of complete or partial opacification of anterior or posterior segment. It is used to loacalise, measure and differentiate tumours and to detect intraocular foreign-bodies and to assess extent of intraocular damage in trauma. A sean biometry is done for axial length measurment required for IOL power calculation. Ultrasonic A-Scan pachometry is now the standard for measurement of corneal thickness.
  • Auto keratometer: It is used as a successful adjunct modality in refrection and contact lens fitting in normal corneas.Auto keratometry is the examination of choice in calculation of corneal power for 10 L power determination.
  • Auto perimeter: It is an extremely useful tool or gold standard technique to study the visual fiedls in patients with glancoma, retinal and neurological diseases. The visual field examination is useful to study the course of an eye disease as well as to monitor the therapy. Periodic fields testing is recommended for all glaucoma patients.
